Ways to Finance your Education
1) SAVINGS: Do your parents plan to help you pay for part of your education? Are you working and saving for your education? Is there a RESP (registered education savings plan) for you? Start these discussions early!
2) STUDENT LOANS can be "the vehicle to get you the career you're dreaming of"! These sites explain how to sign up, how students loans work, and provide information on grants and bursaries you don't have to repay! Speak with a Guidance Counsellor for more information... your career goals can become reality!
3) SCHOLARSHIPS, AWARDS & BURSARIES Many people believe they only need to start thinking about scholarships in grade 12. Not so! Begin in grade 9 by:
getting involved in school activities
volunteering in the community
organizing opportunities of your own
BURSARIES are based on financial need of students - They do not need to be repaid AWARDS are based on various factors, which may include academic success, leadership, character, or specific to career interest(s) SCHOLARSHIPS are based on academic success You may qualify for one or all of these options. Make sure you discuss this with your guidance counsellor!
