NPC & GVSD SCHOLARSHIPS
Winkler Community Foundation "Make It A Reality" Gordon Wiebe Scholarship This scholarship is intended to be a game changer; for someone to have their first degree tuition paid for. The scholarship is intended for students under 30 years of age, and is only applicable for those students entering their first undergraduate degree with full-time status. The winner of this award will demonstrate community involvement, leadership skills and commitment to scholarship. $20,000 ($5,000 x 4 years) Deadline: February 28
2024 NPC Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries Application Open to ALL NPC grads pursuing post-secondary training/education. Application will be available March 1, and students will apply online. Student can apply even if deferring for a year! * Students wanting to be considered for the Karen Giesbrecht Memorial Scholarship or the GVSD Awards from the Gordon Wiebe Scholarship Fund offered through Winkler Community Foundation must apply with this application. Harvest Moon Society Scholarship This scholarship is for further knowledge or education related to regenerative agriculture, sustainable food systems, and environmental stewardship. Examples may include, but are not limited to: tuition at and educational institutions, and/or registration for a course or conference. Students are required to submit an entry explaining how they would use the money to further their education or knowledge in this area. A variety of formats are accepted. Three awards of $500 each Deadline: April 30
United Way of Pembina Valley Scholarship for NPC student Eligibility criteria for the scholarship includes: - The recipient should demonstrate a commitment to volunteer work and leadership - The recipient should demonstrate social awareness and community activism - The recipient should demonstrate financial need and plans for their funding of post-secondary education - The recipient is planning to attend an accredited postsecondary institution (University, College, Technical School, etc.) Recipient may defer for one year if they plan to attend post-secondary education by fall 2025 One $1,000 scholarship for an NPC student Deadline: Friday, May 3, 2024
Royal Canadian Legion - Morden Branch No. 11 Bursary Be the son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter, great grandson or great granddaughter of a Veteran. Criteria can be flexible depending on number of qualified applicants. Last year it was awarded to someone who is the sibling to someone currently serving. $1,000 - Awarded to a student from NPC or GVC. Deadline: May 7, 2024
Access Credit Union Tell Us Your Story Scholarships The 2022 Access Credit Union "Tell us Your Story " Scholarship Program is designed to reward students who align with our values of integrity, service, innovation, and opportunity. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of applicant character and values. Awards: Three of $5000 and four of $2500 each Deadline: May 15, 2024
2024 Garden Valley Teachers' Association Education Awards Application This scholarship of $1500 is open to all graduating NPC students who are planning to pursue post-secondary studies in various areas of Education, which include the following professions: Teacher, RRTVA Teacher, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, Speech-Language Pathologist, or Occupational Therapist. Open to students beginning post-secondary education in 2024-2025 or 2025-2026. One $1,500 scholarship for an NPC student Deadline: May 17, 2024 by 3:15 p.m.
Winkler Co-op Scholarship Program Recognition will be awarded to 5 students across our trading area pursuing post-secondary education, all who can demonstrate the value of our local community along with our other core values (Integrity, Excellence, and Sustainability). Trading area includes: Winkler, Morden, Lowe Farm, Rosetown, Rosenort, St. Joseph and nearby surrounding communities who are not attached specifically to a neighbouring Co-operative Association. 5 awards of $1,000 each Deadline: May 23
Learn and Return Healthcare Bursary This bursary provides financial award to a person entering or returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the healthcare field and whose intention is to seek employment in the healthcare field in the City of Morden or at the Boundary Trails Health Care Centre. Open to residents of the Boundary Trails Health Center catchment area (Morden, Winkler, RM Stanley, Plum Coulee, RM Rhineland, Roland, RM Thompson, RM Pembina). Winkler Heritage Society Essay or Video Scholarship Submit and original essay or video on an aspect of the history of Winkler and/or surrounding communities. Work will be judged by a panel chosen by the WHS and the amount of the award will depend on the quality of the work. Awards of $100, $200+ Deadline: Ongoing throughout the school year. Submit entries as completed.
